SCHAUMBURG IS WINDING DOWN. LAST DAY IS MAY 3
This page is devoted to capture health information and status of the seniors of NW Senior Softball and/or members of their immediate family. In addition to us seniors, this can include relatives such as SPOUSE, CHILD, GRANDCHILD, PARENT, as well as seniors who have retired and may even live out of state, etc. (Once a player... Always a player.)
Some basic guidelines we will follow:
We welcome suggestions.
We learned yesterday that Steve will be having bypass surgery shortly. He shared the following:
I was having some shortness of breath and chest discomfort. A stress test was scheduled Tuesday which showed an abnormality. Next step was to have an angiogram which was done this afternoon. It was discovered that I will require bypass surgery which will be done in the next few days. Will be out of commission for a whole, doctor is telling me 12 weeks. I will miss playing for now and I will be back when able.

Update from 4/10/24
Steve ended up having a triple bypass. He’s in the ICU now but his wife said the doc said it went well. He will be out at least 12 weeks. Thought you'd like to know his status. I won’t be there Friday so please pass on to the guys.

"Thanks to all of you for your kind words, well wishes and prayers sent my way. I am home recuperating and feel that I can't miss because of all the support. It means a lot to me to hear from everyone, thanks again I will see you all when I am able."

I will be missing softball for probably several weeks as I fractured my wrist biking in the mountains. Back tire slid out on a turn on some challenging gravel trails and I dumped. Waited to go to the orthopedic doctor in Evanston until this morning as I wasn’t comfortable with the Santa Fe clinic. Hoping that the cast and sling (elbow actually got chipped too) will come off mid May. But, we are going to Santa Fe mid May to mid June. The first thought I had after I recovered Tuesday was missing softball again. Will miss you guy’s but hope to play mid June.
Update from 4/23
Jeff stopped by to visit today. He's doing well and expects to be playing in June as his wrist is mending.
